Why I have no wish to delete turn pods

I like that the turning signal pods are up and away from the amber running lights.
To my mind it makes them easily distinguishable in all light conditions.
I have no desire to eliminate them for vanity purposes.

(it is popular for U.S. Vespa owners to remove their side reflectors for reasons of vanity....which seems silly and is illegal)

Yes! Turn signal lights that are too close to ANY light are nearly invisible!

True dat.  They may be "ugly" to some - but I like most pods for safety reasons.  Hard to miss the factory turn signals when they are being used.

I rode up upon a sport bike a while back; didn't realize he was going to turn leftt ahead of me.  He had replaced his factory signals with these stupid rear turn indicators that had a lense about the diameter of a quarter.  You had to be within about ten feet of him to actually see them!

Yeah, I'm too big to ride a scooter - but I do anyway.
Even a Burgman looked like a moped under me.
In the winter I ride with one more heavy wind/water-proof jacket over this black leather ICON. Makes me wide as a barn.
Took me months to solve the mirror problem on the LIKE - a couple of months on the Burgman, and another few months on the Forza 300. Never have solved it on this Liberty *. So, it gets limited ride time in the cold.


That LIKE is a goofy looking scooter: with my home-made 34.5" tall seat (but comfy) , too-big top case (but lighted!), goofy long mirrors ( hard to find and expensive but good quality) but I can see and be seen in the dark.

I just avoid looking in store windows when I'm riding!
(*no, hate billet mirror extensions)

It's a "Piaggio accessory".... (like a top case, floor mat, stripe kit, etc.)….different from 'aftermarket'.

That 55W/60W stock bulb in there is a revelation! Beats the heck out of the 35W/35W bulb in the LIKE200i.

Thanks. How do the mounting brackets get mounted to the handle bars ?

I will appreciate any details. I still have an old screen from a previous bike (BMW R 65 ex police bike) lying around, and hope to  find a way to mount it to the scooter.

I like to put red bulbs in one side,blue in the other and switch from L to R really fast in traffic ;D

Faco and Piaggio make a rather involved compression type assembly which then fits into a pair of 'pipes' welded under Vespa and Piaggio scooter handle bars.
Once you get the fittings assembled - it makes for a simple and very, very secure screen mounting.
Pretty certain this won't work on any other brands unless you weld some similar pipes under the bars.
There are several videos of fitting a screen to a Piaggio or Vespa.

Thanks ! It's already dark at this side of the pond and I will have a closer look at the Agility's handle bars tomorrow. The Agility's handlebars are completely covered with plastic panels and I'm not sure whether it will be possible to mount any brackets without doing a major modification. I don't want to change too many things on the scooter so maybe I will just leave it as is.

Yeah I agree with you.  Got the conversion kit from scooter west for my girlfriends Vespa sprint, cause she just had to have the pods removed.  And what a freaking rip off.  $160 for like $5 with of wires, connectors and bulbs (and not high quality ones to boot). In fact the new rear running/taillights in the kit are so dangerously dim (if they decide to work at all). So pissed off about that, and to top it off I ordered the rubber mat thing for the step through area (to keep from scratching) and they had a nice Vespa brand (with logo on mat) advertised on the site, but when I received it had gotten some generic one with no logo.  Never ordering from them again.  I think it’s so hard to see her turn signals now, that I always have to ride behind her for safety and she’s a turtle with the throttle

The pod turn signals were never an issue for me and I was pleasantly surprised when my new Like arrived and the factory turn signal positions had running lights installed. Before I bought the Like I had looked at the Sym Fiddle II which had the USA mandated blinkers but  the factory turn signal pods were only blank sockets.  I think the higher mounting of the US lights is a safer option.
