Spark Plug survey
« on: March 23, 2019, 02:30:30 PM »
I have a NGK CR7E in my 2015 450i. This is what my printed manual says. I downloaded an electronic version, it says NGK CR6E. Anybody else notice this?

Scooters have an engine specs sticker prominently displayed somewhere on the scooter body - usually on the tub under the seat.
There will be found the plug brand, type and gap.....as well as other engine specifications (like valve gap, idle rpm, etc.)

Surely your Kymco will have one of these labels?

I have it directly from emails with a couple* of company hq. that the sticker accompanying the scooter is THE correct source for all such info....regardless of the info in the owner's manual or any service manual.

This is for a UTV not a scooter.  I would use the same model plug that it came with.  I checked my original plug and carry a spare but have not replaced it yet

Surely this Kymco came with an engine specs sticker applied somewhere?

Is too! For the UXV 500i, the engine placard is on page 22 of the owner's manual, figure 11. The placard on the vehicle is located on the left front frame rail. Spark plug and gap are specified as NGK CR7E and 0.9 mm. So there!

Sometimes Kymco makes it .....not easy -- for some of these info tags.
On my scoot, you must lay on your back with a flashlight to see the "birthday" tag up under the body side cover. Discovered it one day while resting next to my scooter on the garage floor. Month and year of manufacturer.
Well shoot, maybe you didn't get the engine spec tag on your Kymco?

Page 14, figure 13 shows your tag under a fender. Can't tell which one. Another great printed publication from Kymco!
