Venox 250 starter won’t turn
« on: April 15, 2019, 03:36:17 AM »
Hello I’m new to this site and have purchased my first motorcycle which is a 2005 venox 250 which has around 1200 miles. The problem is the motorcycle won’t start. I have put in a new starter relay, new battery, took starter out bench tested worked no issues. The brushes look brand new. Press starter button and relay clicks. But starter won’t turn. The side stand is up, bike in neutral, engine kill switch is turned on and it will click once at relay but that is it. I’m really lost on this and any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a multimeter?

Yes I do have a multimeter. Update I went and checked the cables. Went to try and start the relay clicked and then almost immediately both cables on the battery post started to smoke.

I have a 2007 kymco venox and had a very similar issue.  Ultimatley after constant checking of wire connections and switches I ended up replacing the starter relay and it worked perfect.  don't know why could not explain.  but I have not had any issues since then.  knock on wood.
