Xciting 500 backrest

Hey everyone.  I’m pretty new here and originally posted this question in the general discussion area.  Thought this might be a better place for it.  Thanks in advance for all your help.  Love this site.

I’m looking for a backrest for my “new to me” 2010 Xciting 500, and am not having any luck.  Would love to find something similar to what is mentioned in earlier posts sold by Jac Vinson.  His website no longer seems operational.  Anyone have any suggestions?

I stripped down that useless original backrest.
I then went to the hardware store and bought various roof strut brackets (because they had the shape and strength), and built up a vertical frame on the base.I just screwed everything together with short nuts and bolts.

Then I took that to a car upholsterer, and had a backrest mounted over my frame, and it is totally awesome.

It aways gets comments.

I would not be able to ride the bike without that modified backrest.
I also raised the handlebars, and moved them backwards, with two sets of risers (the handlebar plastic had to come off for this mod), so my position is now armchair riding, very comfortable, [emoji16].

Utopia Products in Ohio makes a backrest for the Xciting500Ri...  I installed on on mine 5 yrs ago,,,love it!!
