Rate your scooter's headlight
« on: May 30, 2019, 12:28:18 AM »

What scooter?
Stock light?
I'd give the 2018 Piaggio Liberty and "B+" - with it's stock halogen 60/55W bulb with a measly little 6AH battery!

The LIKE200i with it's 35/35W bulb a solid "C" (14AH battery)

The Burgman 400 twin DRL's an "A" once I adjusted them properly (12AH battery)

Honda forza 300 with twin DRL's an "A-" (12 AH battery)

All are with YUASA batteries.
Really like that the Suzuki and the Honda both ran twin head lights "ON" as standard.
(A world of difference between the newly designed Liberty light, and the 2009 designed light in the LIKE)

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

cool pics....but I can honestly say that I've never ridden my scooter or motorcycle at night so I don't have a clue as to the effectiveness of the headlights!..so I'm no help!

I don't ride at night but will if no choice. I rate the four lights on the DT 300i a solid D-- . Hard to adjust 35 watts per bulb with a 10 ah battery.

I fear I don't have any pics off hand, but off the top of my head.

SYM HD200: This uses a single 60/55w Halogen like the Liberty.  I'll go a B - B+.
I've ridden at night in the dark at highway/freeway speeds & would have liked more but it worked OK

Kymco S200:  The little 35W gets a C.
The light was adequate for a bike that topped around 60ish, the circuit that let it dim at stops took some getting used to.

Burgman 650: Dual 60/55w Halogen.  This gets a solid A - A+.
Adequate light for any speeds I'll run at night, gets the sides of the roads nicely & when flashed will get the oncoming texters to dim their brights.

I'll note to any that don't know that lights dim over time so a fresh bulb can make a world of difference.

2018 Suzuki Burgman AN650z "Bebaamaadizid"

k8 SYM HD200 "Indigo" (Deceased)
k7 Suzuki Burgman 650 "Ohanzee" (Sold)

C- for the 35/35w (6ah battery) on the Lance Cali Classic 200i.

It's one of 3 areas w room for improvement on this scoot  (which I really like).
Under the seat storage and bigger wheels are the two other areas.
2014 BV 350  "IndiGO" (fast, strong and tireless)
2006 Honda Rebel 250  "Snow Leopard" (stealthy, agile and durable)
2018 Lance Cali Classic 200i  "Black Panther" (smooth, nimble, quiet and quick)
2016 Wolf V-50 (sold)

Wanted a Kymco, ended up w a Lance, but that forum is inactive, so I am here
