I am in the same boat here, regarding my 2018 UXV 450i that I purchased in March. The machine comes with a 12-month manufacturer warranty. However, I also received a 36-month extended warranty through KYMCO as part of a sales promotion on leftover (prior model year) units. The dealer told me (correctly) that this would be handled by KYMCO. I received the papers for the standard factory warranty with the machine when I picked it up, but was told that I would later receive something in the mail regarding the extended warranty.
I then followed up with KYMCO USA and did receive a response to my inquiry confirming that my dealer had properly registered my machine in the warranty system and that the machine was, indeed, eligible for the free, 36-month extended warranty. I was further told that I would later receive information in the mail from the third-party warranty provider that KYMCO uses with details on my extended warranty.
However, as of this writing -- roughly 90 days or so from the time of my purchase -- I have yet to receive any additional information regarding my extended warranty. So, I do not know if it is in effect, exactly what it covers, etc. At this point, I am somewhat concerned, but not overly worried, as my initial factory warranty is in effect until March 2020, and even after that, I do have the email from the KYMCO USA representative confirming that I am entitled to the 36-month warranty extension. So, even assuming I do not receive the warranty in the mail, I am hopeful that I could basically use that email as leverage to get my dealer and/or KYMCO USA to continue honoring the extended coverage should it come to that.
Just as an FYI, here is the full text of the email I received from KYMCO USA regarding my inquiry about the extended warranty:
Hello Christian,
You will receive a packet of information from Cornerstone usually within 45 to 60 days after purchase. I did verify that the UXV 450i you purchased from Bloomsburg Powersports is eligible for the free extended warranty and has been registered properly. Thank you for choosing KYMCO!
