Korean scooters??
« on: July 03, 2019, 11:49:38 AM »
Today, as I sat near my Kymco in my coffee village,  a person stopped and asked if I could repair a Korean scooter.
Didn't know Korea sold scooters here in the States.
Scoot "has sat for a few years, and won't start, even with a new battery"
!!!
I haven't rebuilt a carb since my VW days nearly 30 yrs ago.
I made a date to look at it. Owner said no one would look at it, when he called local dealers.
Not surprised.
This could be a real adventure.

Oh, boyoboyo, boy! This  gonna be good! Can't wait! This is the kind of thing I did in the early 70's restoring that BSA. Kids would show up pushing some neglected two-wheel thing that wouldn't ......do ANYTHING! And we would figger it out and they would be on their way all happy!

Having lived/rode/worked in Korea I know about Korean-Daelim scooters----they are/were very good, had new 125 scooter/air-oil cooled, engine probably from original Honda design---enjoyed mine and it did not break in daily hard use.  Dealim 250 scooter had complete Kymco power train and engine.

Imported to states, they were flop probably due to bad importer and lack of scooter sales in US.

That's amazingly smart!
Dang Koreans were good in SVN, too!

I haven't seen the scoot - but fingers crossed it can do this!

I’ve seen it and it’s a good scoot with great access.
Years back the local dealer carried them.
