Need help Agility 50 mods gone wrong
« on: July 06, 2019, 04:48:09 AM »
Hey All,

Just swapped out two things on my 2014 Agility 50 4T. Only has 500 miles on it.

Replaced stock rollers with dr pulley roller sliders 6 grams. Replaced stock torque spring with a 1500 rpm torque spring. Put it back together and now I can only go about 10 miles per hour at top speed. Doesn’t sounds like I’m over revving at all or like engine is working hard.

Watched some videos and am pretty sure I got the roller sliders in the right way. Only thing I can think of is I couldn’t get the belt back on as it was too tight so I opened the rear pulley a bit so the belt would go deeper in the pulley and I would have some slack to play with. This allowed me to get the belt back on no problem.

Probably made a dumb mistake somewhere but took it  back apart and didn’t see what I did wrong.

Thanks for any help!

My fall- back here, would be to replace all original parts - test ride again.
If good...then replace your mod parts one at a time.....test rides.
Hopefully a 50 rider will jump in here to help you.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Thanks, Stig. I was thinking the same thing (actually was going to replace one of the two and see if I got lucky). Hopefully someone will know what the issue is and save me a bunch of messing around but I appreciate your help.

What was the top speed before you did the work?

Top speed was about 40 mph. I mucked something up just don’t know what.

Did you squeeze that belt as far into the rear pulley BEFORE you tried to put the front pulley back together/back on the engine shaft?

I think the 1500RPM Spring could be your culprit.  If you don't have the power to push the spring then you will restrict how fast you can go.  I tried a 2000 RPM spring with 72cc BBK and could not get it to fully engage.  was stuck at 32 MPH.  Put the 1000 RPM back in and immediately went to 36MPH.  GPS tested.

I had a the 1000RPM on when it was still a 50cc and it worked well.
