Been doing/changing of the two top boxes I have that fit on my 2019 XTown 300I ABS.

First GIVI E-46---carries a lot, dog likes,  box heavy, because of size puts a lot of weight above and behind rear axle----can feel it there, so there is decrease in handling.

Second Bestem small box I got for $40, light, does not stick out so much on sides, dog likes, mounts a little more forward than GIVI,  doesn't seem to hurt handling.

So in the interest of handling/feel Bestem will stay on.

Both boxes can be made to fit using the 4 pre tapped threads in rear wing.  GIVI bolted direct, Bestem has light adapter plate, holes drilled in plate to match those in wing....this allows on/off of box....but I use security bolt with wing nut....as I do not want to lose dog or box

Any box/weight behind and above rear axle center is like adding rock to rear of arrow in my world....lighter/smaller the better.

back in 2011 my dealer said there is no mounting plate for the givi top boxes, so I made my own out of alum., plate,  looking at other top boxes mine is mounted lower, so it does not feel like there is a difference, in boxes or how much Wt. is in them,.  I will try my E55 givi box again to check what it feels like.,  I have a E 46 box on the downtown,  now.,  and on the piaggio b v 350 a bestem with lights in all the boxes.,

When I got my 2019 XTown 300I ABS, I dealt with GIVI in NC direct----what they arranged for---mount kit for Monokey….did not work....wasted money and time for me, so I bolted direct.

My E-46 is 1998 model with well over 500,000 miles in Asia/Europe/N. America-----so drilling holes in it to mount does not bother me----I have gotten my use out of it.

The small Bestem mounting plate, just need 4 holes drilled to bolt up direct....works well.
