What kind of oil do yall use in your KYMCO's?

I don't know what to put in my X-town, but when I had my 2010 Xciting 250cc I would use Casterol GTX and it seemed to do well on that. im debating if I should put the royal purple in there are some other synthetic oil.

Mobil 1 0W40 syn, Quaker State 10W30 syn DT300i.

Synthetic 10W40 engine oil - 80W90 dinosaur at the gearbox.

My scoot has an air cooled engine and I have no idea at what temperature the engine normally runs at. Compared to mineral oils, Synthetic oils only start breaking down at a much higher temperature. Therefore I prefer to use Synthetic at the engine.

My scooter’s gearbox does’t run that hot, so I don’t mind to use miniral oils at the gearbox.

My 2019 Xtown 300i--WalMart 10-40---works fine...remembering this bike has no oil filter other than screen.

This oil has worked for me for the past 500,000 2 wheel miles---plus used it in 2 Miatas and use it in my current 2018 Mirage.  No Problems, easy to find in N America.

Shell T6 full synthetic 5w-40 in the engine and Valvoline high performance 85/90 gear oil in the final drive.

I used Rotella T6 5w40 for 33,000+ miles in my Super 8.  I switched to Valvoline 5w40 full synthetic for my Like150i

I use synthetic oil, too, in my scoot, but I believe the full benefit of synthetic is kind of lost in a scoot with such short oil change intervals and no oil filter.

A big benefit of synthetics is they hold up better for longer intervals...but our scoots need frequent changes.

Any modern oil that meets the specs will work fine...after that it comes down to picking what you like, can easily find and doesn't cost too much $.

(remember, these motors are not like motorcycle engines, which share oil between engine and transmission...they are more like lawnmowers!)

Most N.Americans would be hard pressed to find those oils locally.

Yeah I get that.  Luckily my dealer here in Minneapolis carries them, so that’s the only reason I use them.

I use Rotella  T-6 in all the Kymco's.

a guy told me over time that using car oil in your bikes will erode the engne over time because the engines are built strong like car and truck engine. I don't know about all that

AMSOIL sells something labeled as "scooter" oil. It is for both air and water cooled scooters. @$11 a qt.
Do not know of any other American branded oil that carries that label.
I bought a case of it from AMSOIL direct, to use after break-in of my Kymco LIKE200i 7 yrs ago.

My Kymco manual recommends 10W-40, SJ-rating.  The "J" part of the rating is the latest version. Over time, the "J" may change to "K" etc, but that's not a big deal. It's the "S" that's important. It's a plain, unadulterated motor oil. I can find this at any auto supply store.
