Sento 50 wiring ?
« on: July 18, 2019, 06:16:32 PM »
Howdy all,
I am in the process of rehabilitating a Sento 50 that has been cannabilized.
I am looking for the place where the CDI was located. The two plugs that look like they would plug in are loacetd under the floor board on the right side. The four pole plug has three wires in it, and the two wire plug has one wire in it. Is this right?
And does anyone have a wiring diagram for this model that they can share, or know where I can download one from the internet for free?
I tried the Kymco manual download site, but it would not come up with one, even though it was listed. When I selected it, it downloaded a different model.  ?????
Thanks for any help,  CZ

A service manual for the Sento is available from Cyclepedia at this link...https://www.repairmanual.com/product/kymco-sento-50-and-kiwi-100-scooter-service-manual-printed-by-cyclepedia/ You can order the book or get a subscription to the online version.

Thanks, I got a copy from my local scooter dealer, after I promised to buy parts from him. ::)
The next question is, does the Sento take a DC or an AC CDI igniter?
From the looks of the schematic, it takes DC from the battery to the TCI. Is that right?
The Monster Scooter page says that if the lights come on when the engine runs it is an AC system. Since this doesn't run, I cant tell, but when I crank the starter, the parking light tries to light. (the headlight is disconnected )
And there is no light switch that I can fins, so I assume that the lights come on when it is running, per DOT regulations.

The four pole plug has three wires in it, and the two wire plug has one wire in it. Is this right? Correct
And there is no light switch that I can fins, so I assume that the lights come on when it is running, per DOT regulations. Correct
And does anyone have a wiring diagram for this model that they can share, or know where I can download one from the internet for free? See the factory service manual (FSM) - no freebies, though! It's worth the 30 bucks.
