Milk and Cookies anyone?
« on: September 13, 2010, 12:47:52 AM »
WooHooooooo!

I made it to the store today! Carried the milk home in the helmet box.  ;D

I went out today and everything just clicked. I got it up over that little wall, through the yards, and out to the road all in one try without having to stop or getting stuck in the ruts on the soft ground. I made it up the hill and to the college and starting riding around in the lot, but the road kept calling me. lol. At first I just sneaked out on the road and then right back off at the next block. Then after circling my way back around (and waiting for a car to come along and trip the light, lol) I cut across the street and went a few blocks in the neighborhood over there. Then that was it. I was heading to the grocery store! I'm hooked and I'm loving it. This baby is getting registered and getting it's new plate tomorrow!

 ;D

lol, glopezz05. It's only been like 4 days for me. And the first two days I was still in terrible pain from the dentist so I really didn't do much with it. Then the 3rd day it rained after I rode for like 10 minutes so I parked it. Yesterday I got to put a few miles on, though. It will be interesting to see how long (or short) it is until I start whining about it being too slow and being scared to cut that wire myself.  :)

And I can't believe the number of riders I see without a helmet here in MD.

And the 50cc's aren't supposed to go over 30mph, but I see these riders doing well over that wearing no helmets.  Just asking to be stopped by the po-po.

But I like not having a plate - so many photo radar units around....

I've seen plenty of 50 cc'ers moving well above 30 without the police giving them a second look.

They don't seem to care about that.

Good move on the helmet - why take that chance.

In my country the cops can pull you over for speed only if they have speed measuring device (laser, radar).
Another option is similar device installed in their car.

If they have none of the above, I can do 200 mph and they cannot do anything because it will not stand in the court. Even if they drive behind me...

Similar situation is throughout Europe.

Before i got my a50 i was on my gilera ice 50 at 57 mph in a 40 mph zone and the cops smiled as i passed them dunno if it was the kinda smile were they thought its a matter of time before you crash or we catch you for speeding or good on ya type smile, but in my opinion and believe me i do not like the police at all, they seem to give you a break when it comes to scoots :o

So far I haven't had any issues with the police - even though I am going over the 30mph limit.

Not sure it's sympathy for dodging all the big suvs and pickup trucks, or they have bigger fish to fry.
