That's what we're here for, confusion.

I think I'm the only one running the Denso - everyone else seems to be going with the NGK iridium.

Whichever is cheapest would be my advice.

but you all confusing me and changing the #'s.

..i run a colder plug (the NGK c8hsa) than oem (NGK c7hsa)..

..it burns "cooler", which is beneficial on long runs, which is my typical riding habits...

Wordslinger , just a thought , but from what I have been told if the iridium plug has a weakness it is that the fine wire electrodes are easily damaged . I've even been told you are not supposed to gap them for that reason . With all the chops and such could you have possibly damaged it ?

Well I was also told that the iridium was originally developed for 2-stroke racing applications . I got 2500 km on mine in the people 50 with no fouling , and my car has 55,000 mi. on them with not a miss . Im sticking with em .

I never seen an improvment on any of my stock(lightly modded) dirt bikes, but the big bore kit it did make a difference, The question is did it make it better or help mask a problem i was haveing? There was no doubt it performed better but in the end I was loosing a main crank seal (I think) And it did start alot easier. I'm still not sure  :-\

my style of riding the scoot is mainly full on or f**k all so would i benifit going to cr8hix rather than my cr7hix what sits in there now i do tend to run long rides rather than start stop all the time and as said usually at full tilt :)

..this is an older post by "scootergrisen"...

if the sparkplug is to cold i will get black and in time the spark will be harder to jump.
If the sparkplug is to hot the fuel/air mixture can self ignite before the spark plug makes a spark and this can my time melt a hole in the piston i think.

Is the sparkplug thread is to long it can hit the top of the piston.

If the sparkplug gab is to big the spark might not jump.
If its to small a gab the spark might to to weak.

I pretty sure the right sparkplug for your scooter is NGK CR7HSA wich is called a standard sparkplug.

If you want to exchange the standard NGK CR7HSA plug with a plug with iridium you can look for NGK CR7HIX or Denso IUF22.

I wanted to use a Denso IUF22 in my Kymco Super 8 (50cc) but i could not find any dealer in my area that could get it.

If you drive short trips in the city and low revs most of the time instead of using a CR7HSA you can use a CR6HSA. This i called a HOT sparkplug and will burn off the black carbon build up more easyly.

If you drive fast and long trips and  high revs you can use a CR8HSA instead. This is called a COLD sparkplug because it trafers heat away from the plug faster.

You can have a look at the pictures here and maby use google translate to the right if you want to read the text : http://scootergrisen.dk/scooterhjemmeside/tandror.php

The answer to your question... yes it will have a performance effect.

So did they make a substantial difference in the performance of the car?
