..some chinese scoots have nylon gearing...

..the frames are of a thinner gauge metal...

..and the tupperware is at least 1/3 as thick as kymcos...
ya kymco just a bigger and better chinese scoot.

Okay, so my son surfaced for food sometime after 11:00 last night and was curious why the scoot was rolled into the living room and had the front cover and headlamps off. I told him I wanna be able to get close enough to see and hear a noise when I rotate the wheel and use the front brake. Well there's not much room in here but he's pretty strong so he offered to just lift the rear end high enough for me to pull down the center stand. But you know - that lifts the rear wheel. So I still can't do it by myself. Grrrr

The other alternative is to push down the back wheel and stick something under the area of the foot rest to keep the scoot from rocking forward.

Okay, so here's where I'm at. (I'll try to post a pic or two.)

The noise seems to be occurring when the tire spins and hits a certain spot. Like it's catching on something. The noise stops immediately as soon as I apply the brake. Would be really nice if there is just a chunk of one of those nuts that are all over the ground here stuck in that little space behind the brake disc. I can see some scratches on the edge of the disc where it may have rubbed against something. I'm still hoping for the easy fix, lol. Can I maybe run a pipe cleaner or some kind of flexible brush or something through that gap to see if anything is stuck there without harming anything? I believe it is open at the bottom too because I can see some light from the flashlight below it when I shine it down in there where the arrows are in the 2nd pic. Lemme know what y'all think.

It looks like it may be behind the pads and disc. The tire comes off easy may be your best bet to access all and give it a good cleaning.
Kymco peoples too many ;) I'm not an expert just a full time hobbiest.

So, may we conclude 4 page thread about, basically, disc pads rubbing against the disc?

..that caliper is really easy to take off..

..it's your best bet to remove it, inspect/clean everything...

I can see some scratches on the edge of the disc where it may have rubbed against something.

..there shouldn't be any deep scratches in your disc..no more miles than your scoot has...

..how bad do they look??..feel??

..markings are normal, but not something you should really feel as a groove...
