..in that big pic...are those the scratches you're talking about??

..if so, looks like something really gave that disc a hit...

..may be that it peened the edge of the disc, and that is what is ticking against the brake pad...

Yep those scratches aint right. Looks to me it's something between the disc and caliper. Pull the tire or caliper to get in there. It's all good practice  :D

Conclude away, lol.

I'll render my conclusion after I take it apart, clean it all real good, put it back together, test it and find no abnormal noises.  ;D

Hey, thanks, all. Yeah, those are the scratches I was talking about. I'm taking the caliper off now. I wasn't wanting to take it all apart the first week I got it, lol, but so be it. I want to know it's safe to ride. Appreciate all the help.  :)

I can't get them damn bolts loose.  >:( (Yeah you can laugh now cuz I'm a weakling, lol.) Found 5 wrenches, all the same size!! ...how does that happen? lol. Took me 20 minutes to find the 12mm socket. (That tool kit that came with it is a bit laughable.) Anyway, can I spray something on to loosen them up a bit if I'm careful? I can't find the WD-40. Found something called 3 in 1 Professional White Lithium Grease and I think I got some Liquid Gunk around here somewhere...still looking...

..get the socket seated on the head of the bolt, then hit the ratchet...purposefully, with a good heavy object...

..most of the oem fasteners have a "lock-tite" type threadlocking solution on them...

..once the lock is broken, they are much easier to work with...

Yeah, I checked the direction to make sure. I tried with a claw hammer to avail. I also tried to see if it could be tightened further and then loosened, but no luck. And the later it gets the more tired I get. I was really hoping to at least get it off of there tonight. I guess tomorrow is another day. Here's to hoping I'll have better luck in the morning after a good night's rest.

try opening the front brakes buy the handle bar lever pump theam a few times to see if anything falls out spin the tire back and forth maybe wash with water or add some high pressure air to theam to force out what ever might be in there.

So, of the 5 tool sets you bought, that was the one size you didn't use? :D
ZX50, 47mm cyl. kit, TZR50 CDI. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres,
Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.

I know, right? It's funny now, but I gets frustrated when it comes to tools. I can never find the one I'm looking for. It's like they are always hiding from me. lol

Thanks, blue. Went to workin' it for a few minutes, knocked some dust out, but that's about it. I'm thinking those scratches are the culprit at this point and whatever caused them is probably long gone. It feels a bit sharp on the edge of one of those scratches and the noise sounds exactly when those scratches are behind the pads. Don't know if there's a solution for that or if a new disc is in order, but I'm done with it for the night, too tired, lol.

..i'd sure like to say everything will probly be okay, as long as the disc isn't bent...

that it'll "wear-in"...but, wow...
