Yep check that the disc is not to  out of round. If it's just the area with the scratches that's damaged you can take a file to it,should not hit the pads. It will still be usable but not ideal if damage is further down the disc  :'( .
Kymco peoples too many ;) I'm not an expert just a full time hobbiest.

That is good, you can tidy up the disc, everything is still tight so it is safe to ride. At least you have found the source of the noise. If you really wanted to, you could get the disc machined.

So, may we conclude 4 page thread about, basically, disc pads rubbing against the disc?

Conclude away, lol.

I'll render my conclusion after I take it apart, clean it all real good, put it back together, test it and find no abnormal noises.  ;D

It is all OK and I understand excitement about the new toy.
However, why don`t you open a thread called "Rianna`s 50" and write about your adventures there?
This way the forum is completely flooded with not-so-exciting questions and blah blah newbie stories and a lot of helpful or "helpful" responses.

Right new you are on 6th page talking about how pads rub against the disc.
I see that people suggest to take it apart and NOBODY told you it is normal. When you spin the front wheel you will hear that noise always, on every bike.

Can we end it now?

Would the front brake be making a noise if it got something in it? It's repetitive, like when you have a card (or something) stuck in your bicycle spokes.

I see that people suggest to take it apart and NOBODY told you it is normal. When you spin the front wheel you will hear that noise always, on every bike.

..axy, come on..for real???..

..you would think that a noise described like that is normal???

Yes, art, it "seems" to be in order otherwise...just sticks a bit at that point. And the noise wasn't present the first day I rode it. I've only put about 70km on it so I think I may have actually caught it and parked it in time to prevent further damage. Let's hope!  :)

Yes, sid, Good and Tight! Couldn't take that sucker apart myself to have it machined if I wanted to, lol. I shall look around this morning to see what I can find in the way of sanding or filing type materials here to attempt to smooth it out with. Any suggestions?

Smooth it out, clean it off, test the brake and take it on a test run. I could be scootin' again in no time.  ;)

Just wanted to say thanks all and give a quick update...it worked like a charm. I put it all back together and ran down to the store and back home. Not a single problem. I was thrilled.

Then I decided to go and fill up. Since the gas station lot was empty when I passed it and the gauge was down in the red I figured it would be a good time to go. All was well on the way down, but on the way back home, the noise started again.  :(

Looks like I'm gonna have to pull it apart after all. May still be something stuck in there, or may need new pads or everything replaced. Time will tell.

Oh, and I got it on the center stand on my second try. I gave up waiting for someone else to have time to help with it and just gave it a go. Thanks for the tips!  ;D

Yes, something fishy, but if it is intermittent then it could just be something loose in there like a stone, or something. If you take the caliper off, or the wheel, remember, do not squeeze the brake lever while the disc is not between the pads. Doing this could push the piston out of the caliper.
