I'm definitely intrigued by the idea. 

Of course, I know nothing about wiring so this may take some time.

And I'm with Word on this - not going to modify the original wiring!

its easy just have to know your + from your - or hot wire from your ground. THe think I like about the cig. lighter is you can use it to plug in just about anythig I even use it for a little radeo you can plug a
12 converter to it and run any home appliance to it. and yes or toaster to lol...lmao

And you can use the heating pad to warm up the engine in the morning.  Sort of like a block heater.
