I think everyone should have one of them.

Of course, I borrowed this one from my neighbor.

I'll have to take care to make sure I aim it only at the metal parts!

For sure...you don't need no melted plastics!

a 100 watt light bulb is all you well need just keep it close the the scoot but yet far enough away that
something cant fall and hit the bulb. I have been doing that for a few years. its better then heating my shed and jumping my elc. bill up.

Yeah, the bulb thing was my original plan since it sounded like a simple and effective idea.

But I discovered we don't have any good old fashioned bulbs here - all cfl and LED bulbs that just don't put out enough heat (or any heat in the case of LED).

It was either the heat gun or the heating pad.

And the wife might need the heating pad so heat gun it is.

I would becareful with the heat gun. try to pick up a small space heater then when you wana ride turn it on like a hour before to worm up scoot that works too. the only thing is if you park your scoot out side when you get to where you are going it well be hard to start anyways.

Not to worry blue - I was careful with it.

Wasn't a big deal, the air is so cold outside that it didn't even get that hot, but I think did help warm things up enough to make it a little easier to start.

You are right about starting it later in the day because it does sit out in the cold during the day as well.  Generally temps warm up enough during the day that the scoot will start easier in late afternoon than the morning.

It's those cold overnight hours that are the toughest.

I hear ya blue - we're looking at temps in the teens again tonight.

I'm thinking a halogen work light might be the right amount of warmth.  I can put that sucker on a timer and have it go on a half hour before I want to start the scoot.

Like you said though, doesn't help me for getting it starter for the way home...

We're expecting a few inches of snow here tomorrow as well so I may have to get a long extension cord and use the heat gun to melt the snow in front of me as I ride.

I'm just hoping temps will climb above the freezing mark sometime soon so I can wash the salt off the scoot.

Then again, with snow tomorrow and more possible on the weekend it probably isn't worth washing just yet.

Wow, so that was an interesting ride home tonight...

Weatherman was wrong about how much snow we were gonna get (what are the odds right?)  Ended up driving through about 2 inches of slush the whole way.

But props to those Avon tires - they held on better than I had expected.

Still, was a white knuckle ride home for sure.

Glad ya made it home alright, oswaldters.

And glad to hear those Avon's are treatin' ya right in this mess! I'd like to get me some of those one day.

We got a bit of snow here, too, and the car slid all over the place on the way to the dentist and back today. At least there weren't many cars on the roads. Schools here are closed until Monday already. I feel for ya ridin' in that mess. Hope it warms up so your scoot will start up good and so this mess will be melted away soon.
