Slow riding time in South....just too hot! Thought I would pass on some info/experience picked up in 64 years of everyday riding and somehow over 1.5 million miles.
First boots work well and may prevent foot injuries, which hurt but nobody has probably died of just foot injury. Of course rubber non-slip soles!
As I ride in just about any weather----being waterproof necessary for me---or carry rubber over boots, which can be pain to put on, on side road when rain starts.----my preferred at $140 Wolverine Buccaneer Waterproof Wellingtons--just got 3 third new pair this week---they are comfortable, feet stay dry and comfortable for days on end. Warm in winter, too.
One problem with all day rides on scooters=pants flapping. Tiring at best. Above boots allow tuck in of pants--taking another tiring thing away. My Aerostich Combat Light also allow pant tuck in----they are waterproof only for one day ride in rain at best----when I use them must carry expensive Tingley over boots.
For motorcycles I like Red Wing Irish Setters, but their price has now risen to $300, Sole great, and not so well suited to scooters because of the pants flapping issue.
