Adjusting Valves on B&W 250 Advice?
« on: August 28, 2019, 04:11:27 PM »
If there is a hose connected to the valve cover, do I have to remove it or can I just tie the cover out of the way and leave it connected? Also, what side cover do I remove to turn the shaft with the wrench? I've heard you should only turn the shaft one way. Is that true? TIA

Yes, remove the hose. Then replace it after you get the cover back on. Never did a B&W 250 but if anything like the rest of the fleet you should not have to remove a whole side cover. Aircooled, turn the nut on the fan. Liquid cooled, remove screw cap and turn that nut underneath. Yes, turn in direction engine runs. That would be clockwise if you are on machine right side.
