Overfilling the engine oil?

Bought it used and did my first oil change about month and a half ago. I ride it daily pretty much, though not far. Put a whole quart of oil in when I did it last time, checked the oil this morning and see it's way past the full on the dipstick, pretty much halfway up the whole stick. I can see the oil when I peek in the dipstick hole. Is there any danger to this? I haven't noticed anything bad, occasionally I'll smell the exhaust for the first 2 seconds after starting it up but I don't think it's an oil burning smell and it seems to run fine anyway. Should I try to drain a little or just replace it?

If you have the owner's manual it will list the oil capacity. .....and tell you if oil level is determined by fully screwing in the dipstick, or by just setting the dipstick into the hole. On my Kymco the proper procedure is to NOT screw in the dipstick when checking the engine oil level.
It is not good to overfill the engine with oil....so, if you learn that it is overfilled - draw out some with turkey baster. syringe, etc.
Nothing hurt if you drain and replace with proper amount. Lesson learned.

Hi,

Scooter like this doesn't really like being overfilled but you are unlikely to kill it. If you loosen the sump nut you can probably just let it trickle out a bit to the correct level
