Downpour riding...
« on: September 21, 2019, 05:58:40 PM »
Was NOT supposed to rain this morning....so, off for a coffee ride into the boonies.
Light rain started, but radar* looks spooky - heading home and here it comes....
"Cool, haven't had a good rain ride in a long time!"
Cell phone into ziplock bag and into top jacket pocket - billfold into the top case. (always have cell phone in a zipped jacket pocket - always)
(This became the biggest rain and thunder I've ever been in while riding a scooter!)

No good place to stop - soon couldn't get any wetter - Yellow helmet repels lightning ~ so....

The Kymco & Michelins never missed a beat.
With caution -  lots of rainbows in the city puddles - no rain in many weeks & lots of oil waiting on the pavement.
This old LIKE200i's engine & CVT package is sooo smooth it is easy to ride safely in the worst weather.

And fortunately, I could remember most of the words to Tom's song....and ignore the thunder & pounding rain!

It was actually a blast - I looked like I'd stepped straight out of a lake when I got home.
Fortunately the family was still asleep as I got stripped down in the garage. Must close the garage door next time!

* use the heck out of weather radar on the cell phone.

Somethings I learned in Vietnam  - you get wet, then you get dry.
And always keep your wife's bikini photo in plastic!

Nice photos (again) Stig.  Rain on the homeward leg OK.  Outbound, not so good!

It's currently bouncing off the pavements here so the scooter remains firmly tucked up in the garage...  BTW, can anyone advise if its possible (& if so how) to upload short video clips here?
