AK550 Keyless light switch
« on: September 24, 2019, 01:08:46 PM »
Hi everyone,
I am having difficulties with the keyless system and the lights.
Sometimes I forget the switch on, I don't see the headlights turned on, becuase its day outside, (and in the new bikes there is no way to turn it off) and the scooter doesn't alarm that the lights are on. Also when i walk away the switch doesn't gets locked.

Thats a bad design from Kymco side, because 3 times in the past year I had the battery drained out.
Any suggestion from the distinguished forums members? someone bought a solution? anyone tricked something in the system? bypassed any fuse?

Help would be appreciated :)

BR,
Effy L.

Burgman 650 owners have the same issue - if memory serves.
Might check over on their forum to see how they dealt with it.

Add some little thing alongside the light - visible from your seat - to let you know as you shut down?

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

in the new bikes there is no way to turn it off

AFAIK, daytime running lights (DRL) are mandatory on all new vehicles.  Be sure to turn the key off when you park, the lights should be off then.  On my Canadian Kymco, the lights are on when the engine is running, but on my Euro3 Kymco the lights are turned on and off manually.
