Quick LIKE200i oil change
« on: October 02, 2019, 03:45:33 PM »
Pull the plug -- go do some errands while it drains. Replace the washer and cap it up - add less than a Qt. of new oil.
...and, "Bob's your father's brother!"

Kymco specifies every 1200 miles for an oil change.
I usually do them at 600 > 800 miles......
Using up the gallon of Suzuki oil left over from the Burgman 400, sold 2 yrs ago. (at less than a Qt. it takes awhile!)

I like these teflon coated washers at each oil change. (made for Toyotas - ebay - bag of them for a couple $)
17mm 6-point socket.

While I'm down there - it's a good time to drain this drain tube.

With my frequent oil changes I only open the big cap with the spring & screen thing once a year or so. Never find anything in there! Do not overtighten it!

BTW - local county police garage uses the old oil in their furnace for winter heat!

Thanks for posting this "how to." I will use it for sure. Any chance you can display a graphic of the entry you made for an oil change in your owner's manual. I don't want to invalidate my warranty for an admin error.

Has anyone put a magnetic drain plug on their bike?  Seems like a worthwhile investment.
2014 BV 350  "IndiGO" (fast, strong and tireless)
2006 Honda Rebel 250  "Snow Leopard" (stealthy, agile and durable)
2018 Lance Cali Classic 200i  "Black Panther" (smooth, nimble, quiet and quick)
2016 Wolf V-50 (sold)

Wanted a Kymco, ended up w a Lance, but that forum is inactive, so I am here

It just reads,
"10/2/2019  15,038 engine oil, Suzuki 4-cycle 'Performance ' 10W/40"
Come winter months I'll be using 5W/40.
If buying new oil, do keep the receipt, and write date/mileage you put it in.
Don't overfill, don't overtighten, and don't screw in the dipstick to check for proper level - and you can't go wrong I don't think.
Are you using the break-in procedures per the owner's manual? Some say to ignore same - I always followed the manual. . 7 seasons on, my LIKE200iLX uses no oil.
