Sounds like a fun time if you run over a cig butt that someone just threw out of their car window  ermm a discarded cig butt wouldnt light petrol to be honest be it in liquid or vapour form,naked flame will

dont try this but you can throw a cig butt into a pool of petrol/gasoline and nothing will happen apart from a hiss as the butt goes out.Just stay well away with the naked flame tho you could wind up char grilled,dont beleive what you see in the movies

I have tried that with  petrol in a can, hiss, but went out. I wouldn't like to try with vapour though.

seriously vapour is exactly the same it wont ignite,just dont use a naked flame,you could walk thro a room full of petrol vapour while smoking and nothing will happen,well you may get quite high of it.The only reason petrol ignites via spark plug is because its under compression and perfect atomised air to fuel mix,its quite hard near on impossible to do this in the real world ie your home

I won't be testing out the flammability of gas, but I realize that if the gas was that easy to light then it wouldn't matter if the overflow was by the center stand, rear tire or anywhere else.

Still, it would be a sight to see a scooter blasting down the road at night with flames coming from the rear tire!
