Saw my 1st X-Town 300 today
« on: November 13, 2019, 09:38:05 PM »
Was at my local mega-brand dealer today.
Looked at the new Burman 400 in matte dark blue - different than my 2014 400 - seat not as wide & comfortable looking, back rest different. (can it move like mine?)
Then found a used 2018 Kymco X-Town 300 in matte med blue. 3,800 miles listed for $3,699 + doc. fees and tax.

Impressed with its size - looked every bit as big as the new Burgman 400 parked across the showroom.
And with a more comfortable looking seat.

Salesman said he was surprised that such a big scooter had only a 300cc engine. He didn't realize he was talking to the happy owner of scooters with engines half that size :)

That X-Town looked to be a perfect alternative to the $8,000 (plus fees!!) Burgman 400 if you don't need a cross-country freeway cruiser - but just a highway capable scooter!

I was impressed. (with everything but the color and matte finish - don't they make a proper scooter RED in gloss?!)

And a couple bucks more spent on their generic white lit dash??
A little color gets a bigger smile when you turn the key on in the morning! :)

Something like this?

As XTown 300i owner and rider-----that price was about $1000 too high!!.  The XTown is nice bike, a little heavy, easy to work on and the new price not bad.  So far at 9,000 plus miles quality is fine.

I was thinking the MSRP was $4,999 - but I see it is $4,500.
This dealer is pretty famous for take-it-or-leave it pricing. Big ol' dealership - lots of product on the floor. Every make of motorcycle and scooter.
Kinda echo'ed when I was in there....all by myself, except for 2 desperate salesmen. I asked the owner last time I was there if he was going to pick up the Piaggio line. He just laughed, "more scooters, I don't need!"

He's been there for years - so must be doing something right.
Had to laugh at all the single seat off-road 4-corner things as big as bedrooms - with a handle bar. Only outdone by the living room sized 3 wheelers with a handlebar 6' from the front bumper.. WTH?
Only in Amerika.

We've had 'em bopping around here for a while.
My take was that it was more aimed at the Forza, and maybe the Xmax than the B400.

Decent looking bike, & Kymco quality.  If that's your market you could do a lot worse.

Which is basically the rationale behind my decision to purchase my XT300. So far, no regrets.
PS Can’t fault the after sales service either!

The X-town MSRP was $3999.  I see they raised it by 500 bucks.  I have seen a couple on dealer showrooms but have yet to see one in the wild.

I purchased a 2018 XTown with 3600 miles this past summer and absolutely enjoy it. At $2350 how could I not? I'm not a nit-picker and find the bike nearly perfect.
