winter project? - adding a Tachometer

I installed this on my 2012 LIKE200iLX in November of 2013.
I used 2 sided Red 3M tape. (No drilling in the scooter)
Fished the wires without removing any panels - except for the battery cover.


I check it every now and then after a ride - to see what my max RPM's were. or, while riding to see what I'm turning while on a country road cruise. It also records engine hours.
After 6 years it is still working fine.

Removed the seat bucket & wrapped as close to the spark plug cap as possible, then enclosed it loosely.

Stig - those are cool to have! They are also very useful on your outdoor power equipment to show both rpm's and hours in use (for oil change purposes). I have them installed on my lawn mower and snowblower. Useful to make sure your mower blade is spinning at the correct speed as many mowers are set up to run too slow and then do a terrible job mowing / mulching. Same with snowblowers, proper rpm makes a huge difference in performance!

My little tachs are also going on about 6 or 7 years of use (their internal battery will die someday). Big bang for the buck!

Really neat, Stig! I remember when you put that thing on there! Was working on adapting  an OBD II blue tooth plugin to work on the data line from the Kymco tool plug but got sidetracked....that would tell SOME things what was going on in the ECU right on the phone or tablet with an app.

Lahawk, those 28 buck tachs like Stig has are WAY cheaper than a Hobbs, aren't they!
