same electric circuit in downtown 125 2015/2017?
« on: January 03, 2020, 05:35:29 PM »
Hi, I bought a downtown 125 of 2017 and I want to set a steelmate 886 alarm. The question I have is whether the electrical system of a 2014/2015 downtown is the same as a 2017/2018?

Kymco Downtown 2014/15:

I found the electrical diagram of the downtown, but I don't know if it will be the same on both motorcycles. I know that the engine is the same, it is a bit limited by the Euro4 standard in Spain. Being a relatively new motorcycle, I could not find anything about this model online.

I upload the electric scheme of the motorcycle, to see if someone can help me. I know more or less the order of connection of the cables, but I don't know if I can trust the diagram that I have uploaded.

Or if someone can help me to connect this alarm I would appreciate it.

Might you get some help with your alarm system by speaking with the service desk of your local Kymco dealer?
Also, a 2017 model might still be under warranty (24 months from purchase date) - so caution is important as you know.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

The motorcycle dealership where I bought it does not install alarms, both its own sale and the one that a customer can carry. They tell me they don't do it because they have had many problems with them. I have also searched other agencies and workshops, so I want to exhaust all options before giving up. In addition, it should not be difficult considering that the problem lies in 3 wires: gray, orange and pink. The rest is already located because I have mounted the same alarm on the Kymco like 50, my previous motorcycle.
