OK, then there is something gravely wrong. These are typically OIL TIGHT engine units. Like a Honda, they don't leak, drip or burn oil unles something is wrong. The valve cover is no exception. The cover goes on straight, no force reqired. The formed gasket fits PRECISELY and must be in the one and only correct position. The rubber grommets on the cover bolts and the gasket CANNOT be squashed too much because the special bolts will not allow it. Are ALL four cover bolts special or are they just metric bolts?
Thicker oil will take longer to make the same mess. Fix the problem.
