Agility 50 Performance Expectations
« on: September 21, 2010, 07:34:58 PM »
After restricting my 2009 Agility 50 by cutting the CDI wire, installing the clutch boss drive, and installing a larger main carb jet should I be able to expect my scooter to be able to exceed a true gps speed of 40 mph on a flat road or am I overly optimistic?  My weight is 230 lbs.

you are expecting a lil too much, try a high flow filter and upjetting your carb between 90 t0 96 jet size, mine does do a true 43 to 45mph on the flat road gps with the mods you have already done plus the filter and jet!! oh and i run high octain fuel too and iridium plug. Also an aftermarket exhaust would be good (mines completely standard) if you wanted to go a lil quicker depending on funds (around £25 for the jet kit and filter the jet kit i bought was £15 and the filter £10) i can give you a cool internet site if your uk based.Tc.Kepp us all posted on your results  :)

Thanks omfgdotcodotuk!  So if I add a K&N free flow filter, 94 main carb jet, and iridium plug, 40 MPH shouldn't be out of the question?  I'm trying to keep up with my wife who has a Yamaha Zuma 50 that goes 41 MPH.  I live in the States so if anyone has any suggestions as to where a good place is to buy a K&N filter for my scooter that would be great?

With jet size, do plug chops to decide the correct size. Should be easy enough to get k&n filter in America, not so easy in Australia, $58, and waiting 21/2 weeks now.

Uh , a 4 stoke against a 2 stroke with  the 2 stroke having the weight advantage . I don't think so . Now if you had a people 50 or a super 9 . Good luck dude , hope she lets you catch up once in a while .

I might have to put a couple of bricks in her pockets and have her give me an hour head start!  Actually the Zuma goes over 40 mph with just a simple throttle adjustment.  Yamaha seems to make their 50cc restrictions very easy.

I have te same prob.  my brother has a zuma and I have nothing for him YET!!! I do have to say that zuma is really quick out of the hole. I dont think I will ever be able to get him 0 to 10 but after that maybe. we both weight about the same and he is not into moding. from what everyone here says I should have him soon top speed. 2 strokes are all about horse power and rpms where the 4 strokes are more about tork. I just have to make enuff of it lol good luck and happy moding
