It was the Transit Connect and dear wife put the kybosh on that. Too bad, since you can hose one out with water or air!
Wound up trading Spark and old KIA Sedona for a new Sedona minivan. Dealer whose tech said there was no head gasket leak now has the problem.

Did similar. ....
While I was in Vietnam, my mother decided wife and I needed 4 wheels, not two, so these ladies bought me a 1 yr old VW Bus (which had bent front suspension) It was eating those Continental front tires.
Nice Bus, red with white top, but needed $650 parts/labor I learned.
So, 2 weeks later I went to the other end of dealership and swapped it straight across for a new navy blue Beetle.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

It was a 4 cylinder. I bought the car used. I assume someone adjusted the valves and did not install a new gasket. I found out later the Honda ALWAYS  recommends installing a new gasket anytime the valve cover is removed.
Thats what Honda calls hondabond !,

[emoji1487][emoji1487][emoji1487][emoji1487][emoji1487][emoji1487][emoji1487]As a Ford tech that currently has a Transit diesel in my stall that needs a head gasket, all I can say is GOOD RIDDANCE! I believe they are decent in reliability, but I’ve NEVER seen an INLINE engine where EVERY component is a service nightmare. I’ve done a couple of repairs with the engine in the vehicle. Almost all by feel. No accessibility inside like on the econoline . CYLINDER HEAD step 1. REMOVE ENGINE. Remove subframe in parts.

The gas burner is bad enough. (The subframe has to be removed to access the Transmission pan. ). But the diesel.....

Ok. Rant over. WHEW!
