Headstock (steering) ball bearings
« on: September 23, 2010, 05:13:22 PM »
Can anyone tell me the correct number of top (small bearings) and bottom (large bearings) there should be in my agility 50 steering please. The manual i downloaded dont seem to tell you nor does it tell you the sizes. And why were on the subject who at kymco thought it would be a good idea to put them in loose instead of in a race or a cage wtf  :o

Ha! I can't remember 38 top  ???  Use lots of grease when you find them all to stick them back in place  ;) I just went to a local beareing shop and bought a bunch. Got to do it again for the p150.
Kymco peoples too many ;) I'm not an expert just a full time hobbiest.

Okay omfg, I don't know how I missed this post last week, but since I am looking at them myself this week, I found "part" of an answer for ya. Here is what I see in the Agility 50 manual:

• Be careful not to lose the steel balls (26
on top race and 29 on bottom race).

Does not mention size or anything so, hopefully, when the need arises, at least one of the original ones will still be in good enough condition for a match up at a local store. Are you replacing yours?

Your welcome.  :)

Did you do it yourself or have someone do it for you? Just wondering how difficult a job it is.

did it myself, easy noooooo if your a clown and can juggle 1 handed then yeah its easy lol.the problem being the bearings are loose and as soon as the steering is part removed they drop out like lil bombs and roll like a captured croc (STEVE IRWIN STYLE).Just be warned as mine were not that well greased, origional kymco spec ie not touched since manufacture,so the bearings didnt stay in place and omfg!! did they roll ::).But its done now and well worth it (dont forget my scoot was heavy front end damage when bought!!!).My advise if you got no play in your steering DONT BOTHER  ;) leave well alone and ps thanks for the witty comment sid i appreciate it nottttttttttttttt >:(.tc ria hun :)

But, you must admit, Kymco engineers do have a sense of humour.  :D

(STEVE IRWIN STYLE)

I can picture it!!! Oh, boy, am I in for a treat if I need to tackle this one...Might even have to utter 314 curse words! LOL

When my neighbor's son stops back (I don't know when that will be) I'm gonna ask him to take it for a ride and see what he thinks about play in the front end. Thanks, omfg, and I'm glad you got yours over and done with!!! You are an EXPERIENCED juggler now!  ;D :D
