I thought only 50cc engined scooters were speed restricted.
Do you mean aftermarket speed parts for your 150?

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

What year is you MXU150?

Also, Stig, Kymco chose to speed restriction the 150 and 270 ATV’s so that they would be legal so sell to a younger age bracket. Currently dealers can only sell a 50cc ATV to the intended rider aged 6 to 12 years old, a 90cc to a 12 to 16 year old and a 16 year old and over can ride any size ATV. By restricting the 270cc it can be sold to a 14 year old and the 90 can be sold to a 10 year old. The 150 can be sold to a 12 year old intended rider.

The boss drive. It either has the removable rings or the boss has to be replaced. Looking at the parts diagram the 2009 may not have been restricted at all in the clutch. Although, you may want to try drive boss # 22105-LLB1-900 as it may be different that whats in your 2009, no guarantees though, it may be the same. I know of no restrictions in the CDI

I also noticed that this 2009 has a rev limiter, could you show me what the Rings look like that would need to be removed if they were there?

Attached is the microfiche for the front clutch of the 2009 MXU150. It has no restriction rings. The ring would be in the area of the boss drive #22105. To be exactly sure what year your atv is I would need the VIN. That way I can enter the VIN into the Kymco system, that will take me to the exact Fiche for your atv.
