Hello all. Jay here from Mount Hope, Ontario. Mount Hope is just south of Hamilton. For those unfamiliar with our area, look to the far west end of Lake Ontario and you'll find Hamilton.
Many years ago, the bride and I were in Bermuda, ripping around for a week on a scooter. I loved it. Since then, I always wanted to get back in the saddle, but for one reason or another I never did. Well, I'm up again.
Just yesterday, I took possession of my new blue Vitality 50 2T. So far it is great. I am slightly disappointed by the full throttle restriction that does not get me over 57 km/h (35 mph). I know I was not buying a speed demon, but I want to be somewhat competitive with the flow of traffic. Legally, I can have a maximum of 70 km/h, so I definitely have room to grow. I have found several online articles, videos, and sites about the ease of derestricting a scoot by removing the "spacer." A Kymco article refers to "inserting a new spacer." Does that not defeat the purpose of removing the spacer anyway? Is that a misprint and the old spacer is trash?
I appreciate any insight any of you may be able to offer. All the best!
