Drive belt change 2019 XTown 300i
« on: April 18, 2020, 03:09:09 PM »
Kymco recommends drive belt change on XTown 300i at 10,000----based on over 400,000 miles with rubber band drive scooters....I am going to change at 15,000....and of course hope in time between 10,000 and 15,000 nothing happens!  my record only one broken belt in these over 400,000 miles (Helix in VA)

I already have Kymco OEM belt in my stock---carry underseat---believe only in OEM belts---hate walking!

QUESTION: has anybody figured out is, XTown belt can be changed without removing front pulley......by squeezing rear clutch (Helix style) and removing belt??  Of the 11 new maxiscooters I have owned, only Helix allowed this on belt change---on the others space on belt removal prevented this....and front pulley removal required-----Yamaha TMAX I am not sure....got rid of it at 16,000 miles before I started spending money on Maint.

Considering all the errors in printed material from Kymco, that R/R drive belt seems a bit low. Is this a tooth type drive belt like on a Harley? Or is it the regular CVT belt?

10K seems a bit soon to me too John. Reckon you should be fine to 15,000...
