On the road again
« on: May 02, 2020, 06:43:22 PM »
The front wheel (warranty replacement) for my Like 150i ABS has been on back-order forever.
I picked the scooter up today and will ride it until the wheel finally arrives.
The only failure is the speedometer/odometer and ABS so I will use my trusty GPS to monitor speed and track mileage.
Unfortunately, this model of GPS doesn't provide ABS functionality so I will keep off my front brake on my gravel road.

I often wish I had an ABS version but sometimes I'm glad I don't, like when going sideways through a grassy dew covered field.

Does your bike have a mechanical odometer? My speedo died a while back until I realized that the set screw holding the driven cable in the gear head came loose.

Your dealer could have offered to pull a wheel from an unsold LIKE150i to get you back on the road. He could have been the one waiting for the replacement part!

A Honda dealer removed a part from their showroom Forza to put on my Forza for a warranty job. Of course, this was one of Honda's 'Powerhouse' dealers. Nothing but Hondas.
I was in my local multi-brand dealership buying oil for my Burgman. They were removing the front wheel from a new Goldwing to take to a rider who had broken a wheel after hitting a pothole on I-70. They loaded tools, parts, mechanic  and a trailer/lift-thing and headed down I-70. I guess anybody riding a new Goldwing could pay for all of this....!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Not yet.  Taco Bell (where we meet) is still drive through only.  Hope to resume in the next couple of weeks.

Both speedometer and odometer are electronic.

Unfortunately, the dealer does not have a Like 150i in inventory.  In fact, he is closing out his Kymco (mostly 50cc) scooters and dropping the line.  The next closest Kymco dealer is about 100 miles from me.  Hopefully, I won't have any more problem while in warranty.
