Well, that will put your mind at rest. As for having done it before, don't be so sure, I am now into a job I have never done. It was the same when I did the cylinder upgrade, ya gotta start somewhere.
ZX50, 47mm cyl. kit, TZR50 CDI. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres,
Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.

That's right, sid, we live and learn. Y'all are my inspiration, though, because ya aren't afraid to take stuff apart, figure out what makes it tick then look for ways to make it better.

Hey, can I sand them brake pads? What are they made of? One of them got nicked by something at the edge of one of the grooves about halfway down. In the shape of a small half circle there's some pad missing It may not be a big thing. Just curious.

They look even to me, but it still seems to be catching. It doesn't sound right when I spin it. I haven't taken it for a ride yet to see if the loud noise is completely gone...could be okay as it is. It's just not spinning smoothly and I can't "see" anything else it could be.

..you're gonna hear a bit of noise when spinning your wheel by hand...

..and it might sound escessive, but normally, you won't hear it on a ride...

..gotta ride it to know, y' know??!!....

k, thanks, wordslinger. I'll tighten it up and check it out. Maybe the rain will be gone in the morning.

I'm hoping those new viper strykes work well in the wet - but I'll know for sure tomorrow.

Just hope the thunder and lightening holds off 'til I get home.
