I would see if they can help you out you did just get it right. maybe if they want good business
they might help you out with out soaking you for a whole lot.

Hi, blue. I think I missed a few posts here last night. I got it from a dealer, but they are over 2 hours away. I did buy it without a warranty with 552 km on it. If it was a year newer I may have been able to purchase an extended warranty of some sort, not sure, but it wasn't offered with the '07. So it's all me, lol.

There is a dealer across town (he said he no longer carried the agility which is why I bought from farther away - I think he still sells Kymco, not 100% sure, though) and if it ever needs to go there my hope is that I can ride it there since I have no vehicle.  Since it's not under warranty, if I ever need to take it to a shop or mechanic, for something I can't do myself, I would like to know exactly what I want fixed or replaced before taking it there and the current going rate for that type of repair.

But...I'm in no rush to give anyone any business anytime soon. lol. We'll get it sorted out, though. I don't mind posting the stupid newbie questions. That's how I learn. And then I get to look back and laugh at myself. The cost of time & patience is more affordable for me than a repair bill right now.

That made me LOL. I guess there's a first time for everything?

I doubt I'm the only one who has ever taken a car to a shop only to find out later that for the cost of a $20 part and a $30 tool I could have fixed it myself (if I only knew how) when they were asking for 5 times that much to do the repair. It doesn't leave me with a good feeling afterward.

Gday to you as well, Sid.    Yes, I agree it does look that way in most of the pictures.  That one of the steering bearings though looks as though it's coming right out of it.  Maybe somebody tried to glop some up in there.  

I think you mean the last 2 pics in that first post. Yeah, looked that way to me, too. Could be the same grease I guess, fresher or darker for some reason, but it seemed a different consistency and seemed to smell different to me than the thicker, lighter stuff up top. In person it looks as if it is coming right out of that column where it turns at the bottom. 

I was going to check it out yesterday, but there's not a lot of room in here. Thinking to move the couch out of the way today while my son's in school. lol. Maybe I will wipe it all off then check it like you said and see if anything else comes out after putting some pressure on it.

I dont like to pay someone to do a job that I can do myself, especially at todays going rates. But, in all honesty, they do have a business to run.
I just wish you had someone nearby who could help you, I would be tearing my hair out by now. Well,  whats left of it anyway.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the Kymco dealer in Lynchburg charges $145.00 per hour for service . They have a sign posted  saying this , I found out the hard way . The shop I had been using just went out of business , or moved . Good luck .

YIKES! OUCH!!!

No way I can afford them!!! LOL. Many folks in these parts would probably have to work about 30 hours to afford 1 hour of service after taxes are deducted from their pay. Thanks, juice! Bad news or not, I like to be informed. Wow, did you find a new place to take your scoot or just learn to do much of it yourself?

Reckon I can cross that option off of my list...

And No Wonder I see posts on Craigslist looking for scooter mechanics...Wow!

I was using a shop called Illuzions motorsports but they have either moved or gone out of business , I will really miss them if I can't find out where they went . Oh well maybe we can find a lawyer that works on scooters they would be cheaper than the Kymco shop , lol .

Huh...never heard of Illuzions before, juice. Google doesn't turn up much, couldn't even locate an old address or phone number for them. Would be nice to know if they just changed their name and found a new location or something. I hear ya, those prices are outrageous...bring those lawyers on!!! lol
