I ride a lot of 2 lane county roads to get to my destination. I've been on I-70 and I-35 but not for long distances. I try to take the most senic route since I'm retired. I live in a small town next to the interstate so not that busy. I'm also lucky in the fact the old 2 lane highway the interstate replaced is still kept in nice shape and very little traffic.
Me, too.
And - I've discarded many routes if the pavement is bumpy. I just won't go that way any longer😊
The roads I ride are seemingly made for 150 scooters....pretty smooth, low traffic, scenic vistas ( for Ohio)....nice smells.
As a youth in the 60's I thumbed from the Atlantic to the Pacific 5 times with a backpack and Martin guitar in a hardshell case, mostly off of the super-slabs......to end up in SoCal. Wish I'd had a Kymco in those days. That might have been nearly as much fun😊 if I could manage the guitar case?
.....and would probably have met just as many interesting people.
70/80 mph just is not necessary in rural America...unless you're running late for your monthly with the probation officer?
