Kymco MC Spade 150
« on: June 12, 2020, 04:03:56 PM »
Now that the S/O has been thru the MSF course (and crashed - there is always one, and she was the one!)   She had her heart set on the Kymco Buddy but it turned out too tall and wide for her 4 10 inch frame.   Visiting local dealer fell into serious like with the Kymco MC Spade 150!  Reminds me of old standard Japanese MC's of the 1970's at 3/4 size of normal!   Doing some research and there is not a lot in the way of accessories or reviews around other than a few on YouTube- which are all thumbs up compared to the Kawasaki and Suzuki for way less money.
Anyone have experience with one of these little bundles of fun?

The spade was my dream bike when I first started motoring and had small aspirations. From all I found it is a great machine with quality in accordance with all other kymcos. I never found one used though.

Does your S/O fit well on the Spade? Isn't the K-pipe basically the same bike?

I would go with the k pipe for a new rider. Almost a grand cheaper with cheaper replacement parts.

That's kind of what I thought as well.

The K-Pipe is a tall bike with a 33” seat height.
The Spade is  low at 28”. That’s a big difference.

The spade  is also faster 150cc and has a true 5-speed gearbox.

It’s the last bike I own because of it’s Small size. It’ll get up to 70moh gps, I’m only 130 lbs.
It’s also great for wheelies and stoppies and other hooligan behavior LOL.
It’s put together well, nothing terribly pretty but solid and does the job.

Easy to work on no plastic in the way straightforward stuff.

It’s small but mighty lol

A MAC I guess I never looked that closely at the bikes, you are correct. The Spade has 12" wheels where the K-pipe has 17" wheels. Surprisingly the K-pipe has a 4 speed semi automatic where the Spade has a true 5 speed manual gear box

I wondered where you been!

I hope you’ve been well.
I don’t ride as much as I used to because of health reasons, Hence the tiny bike.

I visit here everyday but like “Mister Ed” I try not to speak unless I have something to say.....😉
