Hi, I'm looking at scooter touring luggage rack options.

Has anyone mounted luggage racks on their scooters? If so, were they manufactured or custom? From what I have seen on the Agility rear frame, a large rack can be safely supported. There are many options for the classic Vespa, but options for lets say the Agility, are limited.

Kymco guys add some plywood for the mounting.

Try Givi USA to see if they have anything that fits your bike.  Givi good stuff---my E-46 box has over 500,000 miles, working on various bikes scooters.  Shad may also have something for Kymco.

Thanks Stig, I had one of those crates bolted to the floor panel until I had to set a car battery there. It worked great for a grocery sack or back pack.

Sound advice. I swear by my Givi E46 on my XTown 300.  I’ve also seen scooters equipped with hard panniers, so it can be done!  On the other hand, if you’re OK with soft saddlebags, a lot of Motorcycles throw-over panniers should work?

I have a set of soft Held panniers bought for a sports bike years ago which fit my scooter absolutely fine and hold loads of kit.

I had to make my own rack for my Sento because Kymco doesn't offer any option to install a bin

I have a SHAD box on the back of the GV.  Have GIVI on the Xciting's.  Personally I like the SHAD better then the GIVI.

Running a Shad SH40 on the HD200s, & a Bestem 929 (no longer made) with light's 'n stuff on the Burgman 650.
I also have a set of soft pannier with a top/tailbag that works with them that I picked up years ago.  Only used it a couple times over the years but I got it of CL on the cheap so no big.

When I had my Super 9, I just used a piece of 1/4" aluminum sheet. I removed the rear grab rail, and screwed the aluminum plate in where the grab rail used to mount. Use nylon spacers to get the rack mounted flat. Posted here.

I recently sold the scooter, but kept the aluminum plate. I drilled some new holes and now have it mounted to a Piaggio Fly.

You can go a long way with some long screws and spacers. With your Agility, if it's a tubular rear rack, maybe you can use some kind of conduit mounting bracket to attach the plate.

Soft saddle bags that  I used on my Kawasaki KLR 650 also fit my Like 150i.
 To keep them from sliding off, I added a strap that runs under the front of the seat.
To remove them, I just lift them off.

But remember ---throw over bags unless tied down can flop/flap Dumbos ears---taking paint.   Trip tp North Cap in Norway---used throw over bags, really tied down, no damage to bike (XBR500S Honda) but bags were junked because of rain/snow/water/mud.....and not waterproof!

Black bin liner inner bags work for me [emoji23]

Ortleib bags work for me---they are waterproof from the get go.
