« on: June 16, 2020, 06:35:44 PM »
Does anyone know how to close the passenger foot pedals in the Kymco like? Just picked this up and was testing them out but can no longer get them to stay in....is there a trick to getting them to close?

If they have the same pedals as the Like 200i with a button to open them you just push them in until you hear a click.

not sure if it's Bono...but it's the same avatar pic a different poster used to use...guy posted a ton and then disappeared for a number of years...which I guess is pretty common on vehicle specific forums...

but the picture always made me laugh in that it looked like a guy I knew (I obviously knew it wasn't him..just reminded me of him)

Hi,

1. I have never been on here before...so not the same guy.
2. tried pushing the pedals back in but no click or engagement... they just spring back out.

... is there a trick to getting them to close?

I have the Like 200i and believe the foot pedals are identical to the 150. I select a round button to spring the pedal out to the open position. They are held open by the tension of the spring and the weight of the foot when rested on them. They are not locked into the open position, so to close them, I just push them back into the body where they are caught (and held closed) by a latch(?) in the assembly.

It is worth noting that some owners replace original foot pedals for the comfort of their passenger.

So, your inability to close them (especially on both sides) means they've been tampered with or the latches are both broke - which seems to go against a known failure rate.

So they were in once for you, but can no longer make them stay in?
Man, other than trying a little WD40 to get the mechanism to free-up....sounds like disassembly might be next.
A strange problem....both sides.

Thank you! Yes, they came out the first time I used it and never went back in....tried pushing them slowly/fast, no luck.
I will try the WD40 and the disassembly....Thanks so much for the help.
