I often just park on the sidewalk somewhere out of the way.

I only lock it up at the subway station.  Too predictable for thieves - it's there every weekday during the same hours.  Makes it easy for someone to plan to take it.

...or to plan to take my battery and battery cover

I know right?  How do you protect against something like that?

But now the floorboard area has a nice two-toned look since the battery cover isn't nearly as faded as the rest of the area.

Yeah but now that they have the battery, who knows what parts they will need next?

I fear for my new starter!

Maybe move so you only have a 9 mile drive.

Don't want to spoil the scoot by being too close.

Hmmmm.  I though I just posted an answer to this but don't see the post - so pardon me if I'm repeating here....

I live in Central Maryland and do ride year round.  Everything but unplowed streets.

Grew up in Canada so I grew up in cold....

No, I mean posted a few minutes ago - it apparently didn't take to the board.

..ya'll a bit colder than us!!

Why I get to ride in temps in the teens - and occasional single digits.  Tough to get the scoot warmed on those days.

..my coldest ride...that should be a new thread!!   ;D

..was 18 degrees for 17 miles...

..now, these are rural miles, and several hollows where it was a bit cooler than 18, i'd reckon...

..we have what they call "rolling hills" all around here...

Funny how you can feel those cold spots.

You win the prize for riding much longer distances.  My 5 miles in 12 degrees isn't as bad as 17 miles in 18 degrees!
