Saw a filthy 1961 Corvette today
« on: July 03, 2020, 09:30:32 PM »
This the second time I've passed this guy out driving his red Corvette on the roads I ride just after sunrise.
This time he was slowing to turn across my path....so I got a better look.
Confirmed the goofy thought I had the last time...…"That thing is filthy!!"

His car is absolutely covered in what looks like barn dust. A bit of the side fenders are sort of rubbed clear of the tan/orange dust (where he leaned to work on the car?) but the rest is absolutely covered in crud.
Windscreen was clean, and no idea what the interior condition was ---- but I gave him a toot and a thumbs up as we passed.

He smiled.

It looks like he is keeping it just as he found it! Which is pretty cool!!
Nice condition - but covered in old dust, like it was found as it was pulled out of a barn after 60 years.

I looked at photos - it's not a 1960, and not a 1963 ….so it is a '61 or a '62.

Very much like this photo I found....but with the top off.

His turn signal was very dim ...like a 6V.

I love that he's keeping it like that......most guys would clean it up and then it would just be like all the rest.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Obscure movie reference:

doesn't look so bad after re-entry from orbit.
