shad top box
« on: October 01, 2010, 04:16:45 PM »
hi , i just installed a new 29 liter top box by shad. price was $89 i think. mounting plate was bolted to the small rack . bolts included were too short , so a trip to hardware for i inch longer bolts was done. bolts in kit were metric , at store i got 1/4-20 with locking nuts. box does stick out more than i would like buy looks good. also installed a cruise control. the $24 one with thump control. works great. now have 450 miles and will adjust valves at 500 miles . sorry no pics dont now how . will print results of valve adjust soon. also i paid dealer $15 and he downloaded yager sevice manual to my computer . there were 21 chapters and the complete print-out was 3 ins thick .took quite a while for printing and 2 extra black carts. to complete. now i have to hole punch and place in large binder. likeing it more every day. ride safe, ike

That's great, iker! If you get a pic on your computer I'm sure we can help you get it posted.

Awesome...so glad you got a service manual!!!  ;D

G'day Iker, don't hole punch the pages, just slip the pages into sheet protectors. I put two pages into each one back to back, then put into a folder/binder. That way they are protected from dirty hands.

iker,

Who/Where is your dealer? I would love to have the Yager service manual, even if downloaded on a CD or jumpstick. I would gladly pay what they are charging.....or more if they were willing to do it!!! Maybe we're on to something?  I have a Harley and Gold Wing set of maintenance CDs of those bikes, sold commercially and legally, by knowledgeable techs. Actually, like my others, it could be a "how to" CD set of maintenance/body parts removal procedures for the Yager. There should be some trained Kymco techs or very Yager experienced "wrenches" out there who could do that and maybe make some money. Check out "fix my hog" and "Angelfire" videos.

ref: manual was downed loaded from kymco dealer in las cruces,n.m. dealer name is power sports. cost of download to my e-mail was $15.a whole lot of printing. 1st chapter general info was 53 pages . checked on plastic covers ,but too much for all those pages, will stick with hole punch and reinforcments for holes.im rattering on which is way too much typing for a 2 finger typeist.thanks, ike

Ahh, see, my GPX manual was only 253 pages + a couple supplementary pages.

If you want to print that manual out buy pre-punched paper to print it on.  You can get it at Office Depot and it will save all the punching (and bad punching).

That was two years ago. I'll bet they have it figured out by now.. :)
