Face mask
« on: July 16, 2020, 01:36:25 PM »
Well I had to relent and purchase a washable face mask. Both Dillon's and Wallyworld will require them to enter.  The covid 19 virus is 1 micron a face mask is quote from a friend, (trying to sain minnows with a chain link fence).  I guess if it appease's everyone mission accomplished.
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

As you are aware - wearing a mask is primarily for you to help contain your covid 19 laced droplets within your mustache - and not so much to protect you from the covid 19 droplets of others.
If your countryman is wearing a mask as well, both of you are better protected. Best? No, but better - & that seems to be too much for some (mainly N. Americans - by the figures) to deal with.

When you drive an M-1 tank you don't have to stop at Stop signs, but it is a thoughtful thing to do.....

Like that....goes the thinking.

Agreed - sad that thoughtfulness has to be mandated for some.

My intention is to shop where they don't require masks...I refuse to participate in a charade.

There's only two grocery stores in town so their rules. The alternative is to order online and pick it up in the parking lot.

The way I look at it I'm in the store for a short time so no big deal to wear a mask.

No public business can legally enforce masks as anyone can say they can't wear them on medical grounds. That cannot be questioned as medical detail privacy is protected under federal law(I forget which code). I wear masks in stores simply as a courtesy and believe every individual should have the choice. I do support private business's right to setting requirements that must be met before they provide a service, however, any store that caters to the public does not always have that right under federal ruling.

The whole thing is such a confused and clueless scam!  Where I live, NO (as in ZERO or NONE) grocery stores require masks, and we have the lowest rate of infection in North America.  The virus itself is a 1 micron size, and the masks don't stop anything (ingoing or outgoing) that's less than 10 microns. Needless to say, no motorcycle dealers require masks, either. I've run into the occasional nervous  retailer like the Apple Store that asks for a mask, just another reason to avoid Apple products.

Whatever happened to Americans coming together to defend their Country?
Food for thought.

Quote
During his inaugural speech on Jan. 20, 1961, U.S. President John F. Kennedy uttered the challenge, “And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.” Its simple meaning was to challenge society to contribute to improve the public good.

In regards to the effectiveness of masks, although commonly believed, no mask is intended to catch individual virus. The virus is conveyed through a media such as moisture. If you breath on a mirror with and without a mask you will see the effect. Masks cannot filter the virus but they do massively decrease the viral load and range.

Thanks. People just don't seem to get that wearing a mask is for the safety of everyone else not personal protection(unless someone coughs in your face).

Yes...you wear a mask to protect others.  It doesn't protect the wearer...it protects others from you!

My wife bought us all masks...and one of mine is a Harley mask. I'm not a Harley guy...but it's kind of fun wearing the Harley mask.
