Agility city 50 CDI limiter de-restrict
« on: October 05, 2010, 01:24:35 PM »
Hi everyone!

I have Agility city 50 (2008 model) and i would want to de-restrict the CDI box.
I've read some posts and found out that i have to cut violet/red wire going to the CDI box (only in 2008 models). My problem is that there are 2 violet/red vires :P which one i have to cut ?

I don't think you cut the wires.  I have an '07 agility 50 and I had to cut thru the box.

look up older posts on this forum and you will find great pictures to help you.
Im usually on a bicycle, so for me, this thing is hauling ass!

Yeah, the agility city may be a bit different. I'm thinking I read somewhere around here about cutting either one of the wires, but I'm not sure as I haven't found the post yet. And I may have read that someone actually cut them both and had to buy a new box. Please don't cut until someone can find that post here or confirm it for you. I hate to see the box needs replaced because of cutting the wrong thing. Someone's gonna know for sure. And welcome to the forum.  :)

yes, at first i thought about cutting the box, but then i read this:

2008 model. 3000kms. The rollers are the original ones (6g I think).
The main jet is #86.
I cut the violet/purple wire to the CDI as per Kymco's instructions (the CDI cut is for Agility 50 models: the Agility City 50 has a different CDI unit).

Someone's gonna know for sure.
i really hope you're right :D somebody has to know which wire to cut ;D

Also, johnuana, do you have any numbers, like a part number, on your cdi box? Mine had a sticker on it with a long part #. That might help. It may be in your pic, but I can't make it out. I'm still looking around a bit. I got distracted earlier. I found several posts, but I'm looking for one where someone came back and posted confirmation of their success.

I just can't tell from the picture for certain, so I thought I'd ask...Are we talking about "this" cdi???

..honestly, i know of no definate solution to the City cdi restriction, other than replacing it...

..there is PROBABLY a way to do it...and maybe i missed the solution somewhere in the threads...

I have removed one of the pink/purple wires and yes it does derestrict the CDI.
You only need to remove 1 of the pink/purple colored wires and it dossent matter which one.

..that cross-reference may hold true...

...they look the same, as far as wiring, and THAT is always the key....

I hope, so. If we had a part # for that CDI and for scootergisen's CDI and they matched up...that would be cool.

Okay, thank you so much for the great pics, johnuana!! I can see your part # is 30410-LEJ2-E10 and in scootergrisen's previous post, I followed his links and I see the same part #. When looking at your pics and his pics I only see one difference and it may be insignificant. On the connector, I see your second set of holes on the connector - I'm talking about the slot where there is only one wire - it looks like your single wire may be colored green with a black stripe and his seems to be red. All of the connections and even the part #'s do seem to match up perfectly, though. I'm thinking this will be the solution for you. I'm going to post his link here and a link to the Google translated page so you can see also if this is the same CDI. And Please, if this solution works for you, do come back and shout, YES IT WORKED, or something similar so we will know in the future.  :)

Here is Scootergrisen's page:

http://scootergrisen.dk/scooterhjemmeside/begrensninger.php

And here is the translated page for Scootergrisen's page, the CDI with the part # is about halfway down the page and it says to remove from the connector only ONE (1) of the pink/purple colored wires:

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=da&u=http://scootergrisen.dk/scooterhjemmeside/begrensninger.php&ei=7ISsTJUww_7wBrPzpYYH&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CBsQ7gEwAA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://scootergrisen.dk/scooterhjemmeside/begrensninger.php%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3Dzr%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26prmd%3Div
