I believe Malossi are good for parts, but their belts are short lived, as far as I have seen, if not going stock, Gates or Dayco are up with the best.

Apparently, Malossi belts are soft, warm them up and they grip, but, trade off is short life. Good for racing, race-replace.

Apparently, Malossi belts are soft
.thats the only problem with this set up HIGH FRIKIN MAINTAINCE!!! lol,but again no dis to kymco as you cant have the best of both worlds,as i said in other posts 4t aint for me,unless is starts around 500cc plus, and then i wouldnt have a clue how to fix the engine lol,2t different story
ps sid i recon that would explain the avalance of dust that fell out the cvt cover on recent inpection then

...i've had good luck with standard Gates "Powerlink" belts...
..had two bad experiences with Kevlar belts..but i was experimenting with belt sizes then...
..kevlar belts make one helluva mess when they pop...

...you get small chunks of rubber left in your housing and the rest turns to a cottony puffy substance that fills every cubic centimeter of open area within your cvt...
..even gets in between the coils of your fly clutch springs..
..requires a TOTAL disassembly of ALL your cvt components to get it all cleared out....

...not all belt "sizes" work the best with a particular set-up...
..i'm really liking the gates 729-17.7-28 powerlink belt in my a50...
..it is slightly longer than the oem bando.....
..and i'm kinda itching to run one in my ppl 50...which was the scoot that i was experimenting with belt sizes...
..both "should" run the same belt...but the 2-stroke puts a greater load on the belt...initially, anyway...

...a longer belt would take away from the ...take-off..... as well as increase top speed...
..if you can balance it....
