Anybody have a suggestion on impact wrenches for scooters? How much power?

Some have good luck with Harbor Freight 12V impact wrench.
Mine worked one time..only...now is a canoe anchor.
So, bought a Sears 1/2" ion impact gun. Works great. @$70 on sale.

Picked that one up years ago and no regrets.  It was a mite cheaper then (don't forget you can always get the HF one item coupon)
I think it was about 25 bucks out the door.  I don't use one often enough to justify a cordless, the batteries would need replacement far too often.

If I was traveling I'd consider a cordless but would probably just take a breaker bar.

I use a basic plug-in Chinese impact wrench (About $29.00) for the two drive pulleys and for the flywheel nut, and for the rear axle nut.  The plug-in model is MUCH cheaper than a battery-type, and I also use it for changing to winter tires on my 4x4.  Definitely worth the $29 . One caveat: you'll need to buy extra impact metric sockets for the scooter nuts.

Any thoughts on using an impact wrench vs a breaker bar for a couple frozen on bolts (not rusted, just really stuck)...

Just be mindful of tipping the scoot off its stand when using so much force with a breaker bar. And, some danger of breaking off whatever is being locked to hold when loosening really stuck CVT nuts.
Might be a good idea to purchase two new cvt nuts for use each time. I always use a new nut.

Good suggestions, Stig.  Although the frozen bolt I'm dealing w is the motor mount bolt on the Rebel.

The impact wrench would be preferred, but as Stig notes ya gotta make sure you're really well braced and the bike ain't moving anywhere funny.

If you do use the breaker though you can get a lot of leverage, & if the geometry's right even try stuff like getting on the bike and pushing it backwards against the wrench similar to what we usta do (and maybe folks still do) to loosen the rear hub bold on old VWs.

I always use a new nut.

Good advice!  FWIW, this is standard practice in aircraft maintenance :-)
