Dashboard (cockpit) wrinkles
« on: September 07, 2020, 02:10:21 PM »
Dear LIKE owners, did anybody have such a wrinkled instruments board? What could have caused that?
Could it be the concentration of sunlight by my windshield or is this a common methamorphosis on LIKEs 200? Would be nice to hear some other opinion.

I've seen some high mileage LIKEs in Florida....but not 46.5K's though.....But never seen something like that before.
Seems as though this would take some wicked heat to cause!
A recent find on your scooter?
Big heat wave in Italy...
 .and parked in sun?
Any sign of electrical short below this area?

Txs Stig, the previous owner told me, he got it like that and saw it some weeks after he purchased. Really dont know the cause. If there would have been a heated up bulb then should be some discoloring too.
It does not bother me that much, just interesting to see.
Another theory could be  ;) , this scooter is adapting to its owners facial changes (wrinkles).

That  means my scoot should look like the aluminum foil after removal from the baking pan! Har, har! John G. and De dee, too! Real old guys all three of us!

Where in Italy?

Glad you checked in! Keep coming back!

Yeah, tempo vole (time flies) like we say here.
My place is northern Italy, Aquileia, a hamlet close to Udine and Palmanova.

OK, so maybe just a bad piece came down the assembly line right at 'noodle time' and the inspector missed it.
Otherwise I was going to fashion a hat for my speedo.....just in cases.

Update on this "wrinkles" issue.
Did some research here in Italy on different  sale platforms like subito, willhaben, etc. and it seems to be a common failure for the Like 200i model year 2010, since l found several with this mishap.
Could be, as Stig stated, really a bad batch, which slipped the inspectors careful eye.
But there is ample of replacement from later models...
and its not bothering too much.
BTW: l'm close to 48.000 km now
